PointGroups

PointGroups

PointGroups are small, Christ-centered community where people gather regularly to grow in faith, build authentic relationships, and live out the mission of LifePoint together. It’s a place to connect, pray, learn, and support one another—making a church feel like home. PointGroups are where discipleship happens in everyday life, and where we’re equipped to love God, love people, and lead with purpose.

PointGroups are a core part of LifePoint because they follow the model of the early church in Acts 2:42–47. Just like the first believers, we gather in homes to build relationships, grow in faith, pray together, and care for each other. PointGroups aren’t just a program—they’re how we do life as a church. They help a big church feel small and make sure everyone is known, supported, and growing in their walk with Jesus.

Types of PointGroups

  • Sermon-Based PointGroups

PointGroups are designed to help you go deeper with what you heard on Sunday. Each week, group facilitators listen to the message and prepare open-ended, theologically grounded questions that spark meaningful reflection, honest discussion, and real-life application.

These groups aren’t about having all the right answers — they’re about growing together, asking, “How does this apply to my life right now?” Along the way, you’ll build strong relationships and stay rooted in LifePoint’s Vision: leading people to Jesus, inspiring generations, forming disciples, and enhancing culture. Every gathering is focused on spiritual depth, relational connection, and practical steps forward.

  • Free Market-Based Point Groups

Free Market PointGroups are where faith meets everyday life. These groups are built around shared interests and passions — whether that’s hiking, baking, sports, or diving into a Bible study — all while creating space for spiritual growth, prayer, and connection. They’re designed not only for LifePoint members but also to reach our community through creativity, service, and intentional relationships.

Each group includes a time of teaching using approved resources, ensuring every gathering remains centered on God’s truth.

    There are two primary types:

Activity-Centered Groups: These groups start with shared hobbies or interests and provide a fun, welcoming way to build relationships. Every meeting also includes time for prayer, discussion, and a short devotional or teaching.

Topic-Centered Groups: Focused on biblical themes or studies—such as book clubs, topical Bible studies, or devotion-based discussions—these groups allow for deeper learning and conversation centered on God’s Word. Each PointGroup cycle contains a L.E.A.D.

  • Affinity- Based PointGroups

Affinity- Based PointGroups are designed around life stage or assigned gender, such as men’s, women’s, or age-specific ministries. These groups aim to encourage biblical identity, character, and behavior, while providing a safe space for vulnerability, accountability, and growth.

These groups are key spaces to share church updates, support one another, and discover the needs of the people you serve. The time is used to build strong community, foster trust, and brainstorm ministry events or outreach opportunities. These groups often follow seasonal themes and are Spirit-led—allowing participants to use their gifts and respond to what God is doing in the group.
